Description botanique

La Menthe verte, ou menthe douce, est l'espèce emblématique du thé à la menthe marocain. Elle possède un parfum doux sans le côté piquant du menthol.

Tiges : Dressées, robustes, de section carrée, vertes à rougeâtres.
Feuilles : Allongées, lancéolées, dentées, glabres ou presque, de couleur vert clair.
Fleurs : En longs épis terminaux effilés, de couleur rose ou lilas.
Odeur : Douce, sucrée et très parfumée (riche en carvone).

Répartition et habitat

Cultivée intensivement au Maroc, elle s'adapte à de nombreuses régions climatiques mondiales.

Utilisations & Applications

Alimentaire : Ingrédient principal du thé à la menthe marocain, aromatise plats, salades et desserts.
Médicinal : Digestive, apaisante, antispasmodique.

النعناع الأخضر أو النعناع البلدي هو النوع الأساسي المستخدم في الشاي المغربي، ويتميز برائحة ناعمة وحلوة.

السيقان : منتصبة، قوية، مربعة المقطع، خضراء إلى ضاربة للحمرة.
الأوراق : طويلة، رمحية، مسننة، خضراء فاتحة، وبدون شعيرات تقريباً.
الأزهار : في سنابل نهائية طويلة ومدببة، بلون وردي أو أرجواني فاتح.
الرائحة : ناعمة، حلوة وعطرة جداً.

الانتشار والبيئة

يُزرع بكثافة في المغرب، ويتكيف مع العديد من المناطق المناخية في العالم.
